I have built the gcc-2.2.2 C and C++ compilers under
Interactive Unix System V Release 3.2 Version 3.0 and have used these
to build libg++. In building libg++ (and libio) I did the following:
25 August 1992
Building the GNU C++ Library
1) ./configure i386-isc -gas
Created "Makefile" in /usr2/gnu/libg++-2.2
2) make CC='gcc -B/usr2/gnu/gcc-2.2.2/' RANLIB=echo all
cd test; make all ...
Make: Don't know how to make iostream/stamp. Stop.
*** Error code 1
ACTION: Did 'touch stamp' in ./libg++/iostream
3)make CC='gcc -B/usr2/gnu/gcc-2.2.2/' RANLIB=echo all
Done!
When I now try to compile and link
#include <iostream.h>
int main()
{
cout << "Hello, World!\n";
}
I get the error message:
undefined first referenced
symbol in file
cout hello.o
__ls__FR7ostreamPCc hello.o
This looks like some sort of startup problem. Should I be
including something else in the link?
As a test I made 'lf', which seems to work fine.
