I had the following problems installing libg++ on an IBM-RT running
AOS 4.3.:
1. While making the tests:
tCurses.o: It tried to link -lcur. libcur.a didn't exist anywhere
on my system. I took this out of tests/Makefile file (leaving
-lcurses -ltermcap) and it linked fine.
2. While doing "make install" (are these problems I should worry about??):
# /usr/local/bin/gmake install
/usr/bin/install -c libg++.a /usr/local/lib/libg++.a
`if [ -d ${rootme}/../binutils ] ; then echo ${rootme}/../binutils/ranlib ; else echo ranlib ; fi` /usr/local/lib/libg++.a
for DIR in /usr/local /usr/local/lib /usr/local/lib/g++-include /usr/local/lib/g++-include/sys /usr/local/lib/g++-include/gen ; do if [ ! -d $DIR ] ; then mkdir $DIR ; fi ; done
gmake: *** [install] Error 1 (ignored)
cd ./g++-include; for FILE in *.h gen/*.ccP gen/*.hP sys/*.h; do rm -f /usr/local/lib/g++-include/$FILE ; /usr/bin/install -c $FILE /usr/local/lib/g++-include/$FILE || exit 1; done
cd iostream ; /usr/local/bin/gmake install-include-files
[ -d /usr/local/lib/g++-include ] || mkdir /usr/local/lib/g++-include
cd .; for FILE in editbuf.h fstream.h iomanip.h iostream.h indstream.h parsestream.h streambuf.h strstream.h PlotFile.h SFile.h istream.h ostream.h stream.h ; do rm -f /$FILE ; /usr/bin/install -c $FILE /usr/local/lib/g++-include/$FILE ; done
/usr/bin/install -c genclass /usr/local/bin/genclass
(cd test-install; /usr/local/bin/gmake test-90S "CC=/usr/local/bin/gcc")
/usr/local/bin/gmake CC=/usr/local/bin/gcc test TEST="foo_main a b " GXX="gcc" CPP_FLAGS="" OPTIMIZE_FLAGS="-O" DEBUG_FLAGS="-g -v " GXXLDFLAGS=""

I then did a "make install" again (no clean before hand) to get past this
