There is a difference in the way class filebuf is defined b/w libg++
and AT&T (really SunC++2.1) version of iostream.
class filebuf : public streambuf { /* a stream buffer for files */
public:
static const int openprot ; /* default protection for open */
public:
//...
}
class filebuf from libg++ has no such member. Perhaps it should for
compatibility?

I put it, since it is in the AT&T man pages (though it is not in the ANSI draft). --Per Bothner Cygnus Support bothner@cygnus.com
