As you request, here's a report of what appears to be a bug in the
libg++-2.0 iostream library. We've installed the library on both sun386
(SunOs 4.02) and Interactive (i386 SysV 3.2) and get the same result:
#include <iostream.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
char buf[512];
while (cin >> buf)
cout << buf << "\n";
exit(0);
}
appears to work initially but then core dumps after what seems to be
about 1K or so of output. Our gdb is limping but did enough to locate
the problem:
streambuf::sputc(int c) calling filebuf::overflow(int c) calling
streambuf::sputc(int c) calling filebuf::overflow(int c) calling ...
until it runs out of stack.
It doesn't seem to be an installation problem because as I say we see
the same behaviour on two distinct systems.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
