Problems installing libg++-2.2 on Sun4

I've just installed gcc 2.3.1 on my Sun 4, SunOS 4.1.1. Now I'm
trying to install libg++ 2.2.  I do:
	configure -prefix=/depot/gnu -exec_prefix=/depot/gnu/plat -gas sun4
and then 'make all'. It seems to build fine. But 'make check' fails:

    ...
    ./tFile < ./tFile.inp > tFile.out 2>&1
    diff -c tFile.out ./tFile.exp
    *** tFile.out   Fri Nov 20 11:09:10 1992
    --- ./tFile.exp Fri Apr 17 19:49:17 1992

'make install' also fails:

    /depot/gnu/plat/bin/gcc -g -v  -o foo_main.run  foo_main.o foo_func.o \
	Foo.o -lg++
    Reading specs from /depot/gnu/plat/lib/gcc-lib/sun4/2.3.1/specs
    gcc version 2.3.1
     /depot/gnu/plat/lib/gcc-lib/sun4/2.3.1/ld -e start -dc -dp -o \

    make[2]: *** [foo_main.diff] Error 1
    make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
    make: *** [install-libg++] Error 1

Here's the contents of foo_main.diff:

    14,15d13
    < Destructing Foo(2) "static_foo" (remaining foos: 1)
    < Destructing Foo(1) "static_foo" (remaining foos: 0)

I don't know from C++, I just have to support it for the folks who do.
Any guidance will be most appreciated.

thanks,
