Need help installing g++-1.37.0 on a Decstation 2100.

I have some difficulties getting g++ (version 1.37.0) going on a
Decstation (2100). Well I got it going, but the executables cause a
core dump :-( (and they run just fine when compiled with g++ 1.37.0 on
a Sun 3/60). I think the problem concerns the addition of code/data
that take care of calling the global constructor and destructor functions.

I tried both collect and collect2, but they both fail to give
non-core-dumping code. Furthermore, I use gnulib3, because the crt0.c
accompanying the GNU G++ package does not have #ifdefs for the MIPS/
Decstation and when prepocessed results in incomplete code.

Are there some gnulib3, collect, collect2 or crt0.c patches for the
Decstation out-there (or even better, GNU LD and GNU AS patches for
COFF/Dec)? Or, am I doing something completely wrong here?
Can someone help me? Please? Ten times please? Billion times please?
Zillions of thanks in advance.
(I apologize if this question is posted before, I am relatively new
to the gnu.g++ and comp.sys.dec newsgroups)

BTW a colleague of mine wants to know if the GNU packages available
from Intel for the i960 are also available on an archive site which
can be reached by the ftp server at pucc. Also thanks in advance for
the info.
