gcc-1.35 with gas on HP-UX

Can someone tell me the status of this?  The documentation
indicates that the hp-adapt package in the binutil's should get
me a working gcc and gdb.  I tried compiling gcc, but it failed
to recompile itself because the GNU loader did not recognize the
object file format.

Does anyone have this working, or is it still under development?
