Is this assumption correct?

gcc-2.2.2 now includes g++ within the same tar file and is newer
than the separate g++ distribution of g++-1.40.3.

2nd question:
Is gdb-4.6 the best version of gdb to use with gcc-2.2.2?

Thanks!
