gcc-cpp 2.1 refuses the following input: ' It says: :1: unterminated string or character constant I do not mean it is a bug, but it makes gcc-cpp use unpossible except for c-family languages. cpp is used by many other tools other than c compilers. Just one (important) example: imake. I have numerous other examples. The behavior regarding simple quotes is all the more disturbing as the quote is used by some object-oriented languages to perform a call to a method. Did I miss some option ? I don't see anything helping in the man. Vincent Lextrait lextrait@essi.cerisi.fr
