Installing gcc-1.35.92 on an Iris 4D/120GTX

I was able to install gcc-1.35.92 on our Iris 4D/120GTX but was
not satisfied with what I had to do to make it compile.
There was a typo in tm-iris.h, hard-params wouldn't compile because
some necessary code wasn't included, several warning messages appeared
during the compilation, the object files produced by stage 1 and stage
2 were different, and a few other things. But it does seem to be
working (so far :-).

I have a few questions. Are these problems known and have they been
fixed in a newer version of gcc? If they are not know, should I
describe them in more detail?

Thanks in advance.
