porting problem

Hello,

I am porting gcc to a new system where I have to
define ASM_OUTPUT_EXTERNAL. The macro prints out
a ".global 'func'" in the assembly file.

The problem is that if a function is called n times,
assemble_external prints out n times the ".global"
assembly directive.

When the option "-traditional" is used, the directive
is only printed once.

Could someone have an explanation?

Thanx.
