Dear Sirs:

i discovered an bug, when gcc -g -O removed (optimized) a statement. It
removes count-- from the example.

Sorry, i missed the version of gcc:
    it was done with gcc.2.2.2 with target sparc-sun-sunos4.1
    on an SS2 with sunos4.1.1
