gcc 2.3.1 bug with ghostscript 2.5.2.

When I compile Ghostscript 2.5.2 with gcc 2.3.1, the executable generated (gs) gets into an infinite loop displaying "Initializing... Unrecoverable error: Unrecoverable error: Unrecoverable error: Unrecoverable error: Unrecoverable error:" etc. I tried all three optimization levels with the same result. This used to work with gcc 2.2.2 (however, gs failed with a different error when it was compiled with -O2). gs works fine when compiled with the system's C compiler (SGI's ANSI cc on an IRIS Indigo running IRIX 4.0.5A). Hopefully this bug can be easily reproduced on your system. If not, I'll be glad to supply additional information, if needed.
