Dear GNUs'

Installation of gcc-2.1 is failing at the

	make CC=stage1/gcc CFLAGS="-g -O -Bstage1/"
portion of the installation. The RS6000 system is at 03.01.0005.0012
and has the assembler fix APAR IX22829. The error message produced
at failure is:
  make CC=stage1/gcc CFLAGS="-g -O -Bstage1/"
        stage1/gcc    -g -O -Bstage1/   -o cccp cccp.o cexp.o
version.o obstack.o ` case "stage1/gcc" in "cc") echo alloca.o ;;
esac `  -lm -lld
stage1/gcc: Internal compiler error: program ld got fatal signal 11
make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1.

Any suggestions?
