Hello people on the gcc-list.
I have some problems installing gcc for cross compilations.
What we want is a cross compiler on a Sparc host, for a Sun3 target.
(initially; afterwards also for MC68XXX-based embedded systems.
If possible, the assembler code generated by the compiler should also follow
the Motorola syntax - but that's not very important at this time).
I already tried configuring gcc for sparc-os4 (on a sparc) ==> no problem.
I also tried gcc on a sun 3 (sun3-os4) ==> no problem neither.
Then I assumed it should be possible to create a cross compiler (Sun4
host, Sun3 target) by configuring gcc for sparc-os4 and then manually
making new links for
md --> m68k.md
tm.h --> tm-sun3.h
The other configuration files were not modified.
As could have been expected, there were a lot of undefined symbols and
other relating problems ...
Has anybody out there any idea on how to configure this cross compiler.
I'm not an expert in these GNU matters, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
(The gcc version we have is 1.39)
Thanks in advance ...
