I am using GCC 2.2.2 on VMS, I would like to have a copy of all compiler diagnostics on a separate file. I have tried assigning SYS$ERROR to a file but this will not work in a satifactory manner because: a) The diagnostic messages will not be printed on terminal any more. b) As several images are activated during compilation, I end up with two or three versions of the same file containing information about different phases of compilation. Can anybody suggest a solution? If the compile time messages could be saved in any form, it would be easily possible to write a back-end which converts the diagnostics into a proper .DIA file. This can be inspected by Language Sensitive Editor.
