🚀 go-pugleaf

While compiling gcc 2.2.2 on an HP9000/380 running HP-UX 8.0, the following
two symbols were undefined:
        _getrusage
        _getwd

I was able to fix the problem by hacking getpwd.c and toplev.c, but I
was wondering if there were any "official"/preferred fixes for this?

Also, the INSTALL file mentions that HP Patch PHCO_0800 is required
to fix a problem with /bin/as.  While waiting on the patch last
week, I went ahead and verified that after about an hour of building
gcc, it died with the expected error.  Yesterday I got the patch,
and in looking at it, it only replaces /lib/libc.a, /lib/libc.sl, and
/lib/libp/libc.a, and no mention is made of /bin/as.  Is this indeed
the correct patch for the indicated problem?  What exactly is the problem
that gcc triggers in this case?  (I won't be loading the patch until
later in the week, due to other constraints.)
