Help on MSDOS gcc

I'm trying to run gcc on my DOS machine (djgpp222, I think), and it's not
working. Specifically, it quits when it tries to execute 387 instructions
and I have no 387. I have a 486sx. Is there a switch to tell it I have no
coprocessor? Or should I be looking at my machine (CMOS setup and such)?

On a vaugely relates topic, are there any docs for gas? Like use of
pseudo-ops, format, etc? Or is gas not recommended as a user friendly
assembeler?

Any help appreciated, and thanked for in advance.
