dosshell's Ctrl-Esc disabled by djgpp go32? Fix?

It appears that I cannot use dosshell's task swapping
mechanism when one of the active programs relies on the
DJGPP go32.  The Ctrl-Esc combination used to escape from an
running "active" program to the shell doesn't work.  Is
there a solution to this?
