I've used previous versions of gcc without problem, and in fact I've been very impressed with the extent to which (for the last few versions) building it on my NeXT has become completely trivial. Until today, that is. I updated my (working) copy of 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 with the patches that appeared on prep while I was on Xmas vacation, and rebuilt everything from scratch. Having rebuilt gcc, I rebuilt libg++.a too, and had no trouble. But now when I try to use the new gcc for anything else, I get the message gcc: installation problem, cannot exec cpp: No such file or directory What's going on? I'm sure this is completely trivial, but I can't see what I've done wrong. I completely de-installed all gcc stuff, and rebuilt it from scratch - everything in /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib looks ok to me (and cpp is indeed there, as the executable file /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/next-mach/2.3.3/cpp). But I can't use it. Help! --Steve Anderson <anderson@sapir.cog.jhu.edu>
