We are trying to build gcc 2.3.1 on Venix but get this message when
doing the stage2 build:

> ebony> make CC="stage1/xgcc -Bstage1/" CFLAGS="-O" LANGUAGES=c
>         ./genpeep md > tmp-peep.c
> switch format wrong in rtl.read_rtx(). format was: L.
>         file position: 3213
> sh: 213 abort - core dumped
> *** Error code -122
>
> Stop.

The machine is an intel 302 25MHz + 387 + 8Mb running Venix 3.2.4

Has anyone built gcc on Venix or does anyone know why this error
should have occured?

./configure i386-sysv3
echo host=i386-unknown-sysv3 target=i386-unknown-sysv3 build=i386-unknown-sysv3
