Hi there,

I would like to compile GCC 2.2.2 on an IBM RS/6000 and I
am running into problems when it is trying to construct
libgcc.

Here is what I am getting:

/u/mobius/greg/elvis/gcc-2.2.2>make
        rm -f tmplibgcc2.a
        set -e; \
                for name in _muldi3 _divdi3 _moddi3 _udivdi3 _umoddi3 _negdi2

_shtab _clear_cache _trampoline __main _exit; \
                do \
                  echo ${name}; \
                  ./gcc -O2 -g -B./ -g1 -I. -I. -I./config -c -DL${name} \
                      ./libgcc2.c -o ${name}.o; \
                  if [ $? -eq 0 ] ; then true; else exit 1; fi; \
                  ar rc tmplibgcc2.a ${name}.o; \
                  rm -f ${name}.o; \
                done

Assembler:
/tmp/ccTD8Dmb.s: line 25: Error In Syntax
The error code from the last failed command is 1.

Make Quitting.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks for any help!
