We have tried to compile glibc1.3 using gcc2.2.2 (gcc compiled without gas or gnu-ld) but it wont't work (the test will always result in a segmentation fault even if we override stddef.h and redefine __SIZE_TYPE__). On the other hand glibc compiles and tests fine if we compile gcc2.2.2 with gas and gnu-ld options enabled. For the moment we are can not use this option as we suppose that there are several bugs when we use these (global variables won't get initilized e.g., etc). Has anyone compiled glibc1.3 with gcc2.2.2 WITHOUT gcc2.2.2 being compiled with the -with-gas and -with-gnu-ld options? Thanks for any help! Helmut kaufmann@inf.ethz.ch
