I am having considerable difficulty trying to run the configure script. The reason is because the machine vendor has nothing to do with it. The machine is a sparc, and the operating system is system v release 4. Since svr4 is standard (well, close enough), I shouldn't have to provide a vendor. However, configure insists that I can't use sparc-unknown-svr4 What can I use? The machine vendor is actually ICL, and we have done the reference port of sysvr4 to the sparc architecture. There are no features or ommissions from this machine, that make it different from stock svr4. How do you suggest I get around this? There are also 'bugs' in configure for the other parts of gdb, in that it uses the bsd side of things (eg alloca.h which is in /usr/ucbinclude), and not the system v side which is what it should.
