problems with gdb

Hello,

I am using g++ (2.2.2) with gdb (4.4). I am not sure if this is the correct
place to write to, however, I am quite frustrated by the problems I've had
and would like to know if there is a solution to them. However, I don't quite
know how to submit a formal bug report, since it is really a gdb problem I'm
having.

Gdb refuses to acknowledge the existence of any of the member functions and
methods and operators of my defined vector classes. I can't do things like
"print vec1[1]", instead I get a message like "operator not defined for this
type". I can't do things like "call vec1.display()", either. "method not
defined for this type". Also, I can't even "list intAVec::display", "method
not defined for this type".

Yet, when I do "ptype intAVec", it prints out all the declared methods and
operators. If I do "whatis vec1", it correctly responds intAVec.

The problem with the operator existed in version 4.2, the undefined method
bug is apparently new to 4.4. I have pointed out these problems many times
before to this address, and also to the newsgroup gnu.g++.help. I have never
received any acknowledgement to my communications....

Anyway, if there is anything I can do to facilitate further exploration of
the bug I am experiencing, please let me know. Let me know also if there
is a separate place for reporting gdb problems.

My decision to use g++ can only continue as long as there is a reliable
debugging environment. It has been frustrating, so far....

I'm hoping, there will magically be some compiler flag that will solve all
my problems. I've been using the '-g' option....

Thanks for your time,

Jason Rosenberg
