I have found the bug in my previous posting, about being unable to built a cross development gdb. It turns out that in the directory gdb-4.6/gdb/ was an existing file tm.h and xm.h that were both linked to the same host machine, EVEN THOUGH I had done a make clean in gdb-4.6 prior to building a cross development gdb in a separate directory. Evidently, the build pulls xm.h and tm.h out of gdb-4.6/gdb, rather than out of the current cross development environment. -rrh
