Installing GDB 4.6 on mips-sony-news

There are no mh- and mt- files in ./gdb/config .
A Makefile in ./bfd is not generated .
Debugging output from gcc-2.2.2 and libg++-2.2
with dbx is not possible.
Help !
Does GDB 4.6 run under NEWS-OS 4.0 ?
Who can post me the location of the appropiate 
configuration files ?
