gdb returns : $1 = (struct <opaque> *) some addr when trying to print out a complex structurei or C++ class. This does not happen all of the time, however. I am usually able to fix the problem by explicit typecasting, (gdb) p (struct name *) var. Am I doing something wrong or is this how gdb is supposed to work? I can send you a specific example if that helps. Thanks, John Casey
