Hello GNUers...
after a big fight with the VMS-CC.MAK or better with it's result, I
finally made it...
Well, but!
After starting GS, I find it in an infinite loop. It probably has 
something to do with the fonts but I don't know for sure.
Let's look at the screen:

$ GS "-sOUTPUTFILE=TEST.DAT" TEST.PS
Initializing...  Unrecoverable error: invalidfont in --nostringval--
Operand stack:
    NullFont gs_fonts.ps gconfig.ps gs_statd.ps
unrecoverable error: undefined in quit
Operand stack:
    NullFont gs_fonts.ps gconfig.ps gs_statd.ps
unrecoverable error: undefined in quit

and so on and so on.
The GS-Program NEVER accesses a font file, the last file accessed is 
indeed the gs_fonts.ps !

Another error (I fixed it shorthand) was in GCONFIG.PS where I received
an unexpected interpreter error -21 with .copypage . I just commented
the line /.copypage etc. out and the program went on.

So, what's going on here. I have no guess what causes this error and no 
idea to fix it up.

Back to my problems compiling it: I wanted other devices than X11, so I 
made a GCONFIG.H with epson and GIF8. Well, everytime the GS started it
bombed out with ACCESS VIOLATION. Examining the code brought me to the 
point: The GCONFIG.OBJ had the wrong pointer to the gx_device-structure 
for epson. After many retries a newer version suddenly made it, don't 
ask me why...

So please answer quick, since I darely need this program on my MyVax!!
