Because Ghostscript has become so popular, I'm having to adopt a new and more restrictive policy regarding questions and requests for help. As of August 15, 1992, Aladdin Enterprises (that's me) will only respond to questions if: - You are running the most recent version of Ghostscript (which is now 2.4.1, and on that date should be 2.5). There will be a 2-week grace period following the release of each new version. - You obtained Ghostscript either from the Internet or directly from Aladdin -- i.e., not from Compuserve, GEnie, a shareware house, a BBS, etc. This is an "only if", not an "if and only if", i.e., I can't promise to answer questions even if you do both of the above. I'll continue to read gnu.ghostscript.bug and answer questions from time to time. If you need support for Ghostscript, I suggest you contact one of the organizations or individuals that provide contract support for GNU software such as Cygnus. They don't currently support Ghostscript, but if enough people express an interest, they might do it. If anyone else is interested in providing contract (or free) support for Ghostscript and would like me to pass along their name to people wanting this, I'd be happy to do so. If you represent an organization with many people using Ghostscript, I may be able to provide support under contract myself: please contact me directly if you want to discuss this. Commercial Ghostscript licensees receive support as part of their contract, and the "latest version" restriction does not apply to them. Thanks to everyone for helping Ghostscript become successful.
