In article <BtJG9u.DME@olsen.ch>, lichtin@olsen.CH (Martin Lichtin) writes: ) ) I'm calling GhostScript 2.41 from within other programs, so ) GhostScript should not issue any text if everything goes fine. ) Unfortunately, using the following ) ) gs -dNOPAUSE -q -sDEVICE=dfaxhigh -sOUTPUTFILE='fax.%d' file.ps ) ) still generates the 'GS>' prompt on stdout. Is there a way to avoid ) this? Shouldn't NOPAUSE do it? This is what history.doc says: ) ) "Adds a new NOPAUSE flag to suppress the prompt and pause at ) copypage and showpage." ) ) I noticed that the 'GS>' text is defined in 'gs_init.ps', function ) 'prompt'. Thanks for any help. You need the "quit" command to leave gs. Just add quit.ps to the end of the gs command line. This file comes with gs and contains only the command "quit". If it can not find it, you may need to specified a full path. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kevin O.
