I got exactly the same problem with gs386 and your solution works.
Thanks.  Now 2.5 works great except that its slower than 2.4.1.

About the new stuff that has been added on - Could some knowledgeable
person tell me how to use the new CCITTFax encoding/decoding features
and what exactly are Cyrillic Fonts???

Thanks for any help.  I know I'm ignorant but I've got to learn
sometime.
