Ghostscript  just crashes out on me when I use it interactively and
just press <return> before typing anything.  It has some kinda error
message then quits.

it's just annoying, has anybody found a solution?

I'm using a pre-compiled ghostscript frop ftp-os2.nmsu.edu, it has
os/2 pm drivers.
