Problem printing xvgr manual

I'm trying to print the xvgr manual using ghostscript and when I preview
using gs2.5.2 and X windows I get the following error.

Error: /rangecheck in --get--
Operand stack:
    (\017\207\303\341\360x<\036) 8
Execution stack:
    %interp_exit --nostringval-- --nostringval-- false
--nostringval-- --nostringval-- false --nostringval--
--nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval--
%set_screen_continue --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval--
Dictionary stack:
    399/479 18/200 178/190

When I preview it using gs2.4 I don't get this error. What is the error
and what's changed in 2.5.2. I've tried printing it on a deskjet using
2.4 but I get garbage. Is there some way of fixing the file so that it
will print. I'm not a postscript expert, I just use ghostscript to get
printouts on my deskjet. What is a rangecheck error, what causes it?
