There is a shell script available from ftp.mpce.mq.edu called ps2a.sh
in the /pub/comp/src directory that is written by Len Hamie of the
Macquarie University, Australia. I believe it was originally written for
UNIX but works quite well with MSDOS. The script writes ASCII output to
stdout, on MSDOS I use gs386 -dNOPAUSE -dNODISPLAY psa.sh x.ps >out.asc
I ignore the error and then use a text editor to reformat.

Good Luck!
