epson fonts problem

I am having a few problems with ghostscript going to a epson compatible
printer (Nec pinwriter p7). But firstly let me say this is wonderful
free software, and I don't mean to complain, I only want to know if
a fix is on its way or if this is a known problem.

1) Positioning and sizing of fonts is not correct. Justified text
comes out unjustified (on the right) and some letters overprint
   occassionally ( T with a following o is commonly a victim).

2) Sometimes the ghostscript goes into sulk mode for the first
half of each page and replaces every character with an irregular
block that would completely cover the character. When it leaves
this mode (randomly?) it sometimes does so midway through a line.
Ie the bottom few raster lines of each character is OK.

Any ideas, comments, fixes, workarounds? please email as we do
not get this group onto our machine (I hope we send it out???)

Thanks in advance
