	Sorry if am i in the wrong newsgroup.

	I have a sun3/80 and a Canon LBP4 (a non postscript laser printer
	using the "CaPsl3" language).

	My problem is how to print a postscript file on a non
	postscript printer ?

	Ghostscript seem to do something like that. But maybe i
	missunderstand it's features.
	I compiled gs whith DEVICES..= x11.dev lbp8.dev and tried
	to do something like this :

		gs -sOUTPUTFILE=foo.lbp -sDEVICE=lbp8 foo.ps

	I suppose that here i should have a file named foo.lbp in the
	format understood by the lbp8 ( am i wrong ?).
	So i tried to lp it in my lbp4 just to see. I just print garbage.

	What's the problem ?
	LBP4 and LBP8 are very differents ?
	Gs don't work the way i think ?

	Does anyone know a way to print "pretty" (not just ascii) things
	whith this configuration ?

	Thanks for any help.

-Alawa

PS : the file i tried to print is only a man page but the foo.lbp is 700k.

please post the /etc/printcap , it's possible that you don't use raw
for your output device with post-processing like CR-->CRLF etc
and this makes garbage.

(BTW: i had the same problem with HP's and solved this with this hint,
 thanks to the net-people's)

gs 2.5.2 on hp-730

I am running ghostscript 2.5.2 on an HP-730 running HPUX 8.07

Using the command:
        cat $i | gs -q -sDEVICE=ljet3 -sOUTPUTFILE="|lp -dLJIII -oraw -onb" - ;

Occasionally but reliably drops characters, characters are replaced with
spaces, and if a document is printed twice it loses the same characters.

Any ideas?
