Hello there people in netland...
I gots a slight problem. I have just discovered the joys of
Ghostscript but I can't get it to work on my University's
rooty-zooty new laserjet IIIsi's (think thats the name of them...
great big mothers...)
Here is the problem. I can get everything to display on the screen
fine or use dot-matrix printers hooked up to my machine (386 clone)
but they have the laserjet on some kind of Novell network or something.
The network takes input from LPT2 and routes it thru a server to
get to the printer. As I sit here, I can manually set the printer for
LPT2 with all my other software but with GS I am stuck. It dumps to
PRN which is LPT1.
If there are any DOS or GhostScript whizzes out there that can give me
a solution I would be indebted for ever (or at least for a few mins. )
My only other alternatives are to use a Mac & the PS laserprinters
which will take some file transfers or to run PS370 on our VM/ESA
monster & run it on a huge IBM laserprinter & wait forever for the
printout & risk the wrath of the system operators for printing garbage.
e-mail responses, as I check my mail lots more often than I would
probably check this group.
Thanks ,
Bruce
