I'm trying to use the latest version of Ghostscript to print to my HP IIIP. The best output so far has been using the -sDEVICE=ljetplus switch. Even in this case, it is rare to get a single page error free. For example, printing the output from prfont.ps with just the Times-Roman font specified produces 3/4 of a page that is acceptable, then there are lines that are cut off and garbled. This is followed by several blank pages, then a garbled second page of output. Frequently the garbled pages have non-graphics (native HP Courier font?) characters. All the sample .ps files (and others) preview on-screen corrrectly. If anyone has a screen previewer for HP-PCL language graphics files, I'd like to check whether the problem is on the printer side or the file produced by Ghostscript is corrupt. Enivronment/Hardware: 486-33 8MB RAM HP LJ IIIP, 3MB VGA Monitor MS-DOS 5.0 MKS Toolkit My hope is to get Ghostscript working smoothly with groff so that I can troff==>HPLJ on my pc. If anyone has this combination working, or has ported psroff to DOS, please let me know.
