I am having problem running Ghostscript 2.5.2 under Windows 3.1. It opens a window and then
it dies. Is there any especial setup in the win.ini file that I need to do? Did anyond have the same
problem? Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have the most recent MSDOS distribution files (they're
available on simtel and mirrors). There was a version mixup in the original
2.5.2 posting which has since been corrected.

Make sure GS_LIB points to your initialization file befores starting
windows. Also, if you defined GS_DEVICE, it's probably causing the
error. Edit the definition of gswin and put -sDEVICE=win after the
executable name (or where you specify options, depending on what
windows interface you use.)

for example, I have

	set GS_LIB=E:\GS;E:\GS\FONTS
	set GS_DEVICE=tseng

in my autoexec.bat.

And, I defined the gswin program to be invoked by:

	c:\windows\misc\gswin.exe -sDEVICE=win

so that the GS_DEVICE will be not be used by gswin.exe. This is with
version 2.5.2 and everything works fine.
