GhostScript for OS/2 - different bug
#570

I have obtained version 2.5.2 of GhostScript for OS/2 2.0 (gs252pm.zip) and
am having a problem with printing. I believe I have GhostScript setup
correctly because I can view files ok. However, when I try to print them on
my IBM PC Graphics Printer which, as far as I know, is pretty much an exact
clone of an Epson FX-80, the result is garbage.

I have tried both the epson and the eps9high device drivers and both produce
the same results. In high resolution mode, the printer starts by printing a
'W' at the top of the page followed by lines of varying size textual
gibberish and an occasional beep (yes, my printer beeps at ^G's when in text
mode). In medium or low resolution modes, one can observe the actual
graphics printing out but with a problem as to the length of each line. In
this case, it seems that GhostScript is making the blank sections, where
absolutely nothing is printed, too wide. Thus, the lines of graphics wrap
around and produce an image that is, to say the least, rather choppy.

Incidentally, I seem to remember having EXACTLY this same problem with the
MS-DOS version of GhostScript a while back and never did find a solution.

Is this a known bug? Does anyone have a workaround? Is there any chance
that it might be fixed anytime soon?
