I compiled ghostscript 2.6.0 without difficulties under SCO ODT 3.0,
but get the following on startup:

Initializing...
X Error of failed request: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)
  Major opcode of failed request:  88 (X_FreeColors)
  Serial number of failed request:  12
  Current serial number in output stream:  16

What am I doing wrong?
