As I'm sure many of you know, groff 1.06 doesn't compile easily on a Sun
running SunOS 4.1.2 with gcc/g++ 2.3.3 (and several earlier versions of
g++ 2.x). So, I'm looking for advice on how to accomplish this task.
I've tried copying files from gcc-lib/.../include and /usr/include to a
new directory and ANSI-izing them, but this is a tedious and discouraging task.
I keep thinking that somebody must have already done this for all the relevant
include files. Have they, or is this a dead-end?
Another thing I could try is to use the Sun SPARCompiler C++ 2.01
(I think that's the right version), for which I have a license. I haven't
installed the Solaris 1 version of this, but I could. Would this be easier?
Would this work?
Any other helpful advice would be appreciated. Please respond by mail.
Thanks.
Brian

Same here with libg++-2.3 under SunOS 4.1.3 with g++ 2.3.3. The following
simple program, stored as x.cc in libg++/src, does not compile:
#include <std.h>
main(){}
because g++ chokes on the include-files.
Invocation is:
gcc -g -O -nostdinc++ -I.. -I. -I./../iostream -I./../g++-include -c x.cc
Error message:
In file included from ./../g++-include/sys/types.h:15, from /usr/include/unistd.h:72, from ./../g++-include/unistd.h:25, from ./std.h:28, from x.cc:1:
/usr/include/sys/types.h:24: conflicting types for `wchar_t'
./../g++-include/stddef.h:11: previous declaration of `wchar_t'
No problems though under Ultrix, got libg++-2.3 and groff-1.06 running
without any problems. Is SunOS no longer supported or is there some trick?
