Usually ALL software - whether PD, copylefted, or commercial - does not come
with a warranty, except perhaps for the physical medium on which you bought
it. Even if your compiler says "100% ANSI-compatible" on the box, I'll bet
that the fine print on the license means that even if it wipes your hard
disk and blows your monitor when you try to compile a "hello world" program,
you won't even be able to get a refund of your purchase price.

Does anyone know of some generally-available software that *does* come with
a real warranty?
