I tried to install GNU tar 1.11.1 on an IBM RS6000 running AIX 3.2.0. The following seems to be wrong: In buffer.c, on line 1133, there is a switch(WTERMSIG(status)). It is obvious from the code that follows that the code assumes a 0 for WTERMSIG(status) when there was no signal. On this system, however, the macro returns a -1 in that case.
