   Unofortunately it wont compile correctly because of the

You need to give more information.  What version of SCO are you
running?  What version of diff are you trying to compile?  How have
you configured the diff package?

FYI, I have GNU diff 2.0 running on a i386 PC compatible which is
running ODT 2.0 (based on SCO UNIX 3.2v4).  I used the following
definitions to compile it:

	-DDIRENT=1 -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -DUSG=1
	-DHAVE_DUP2=1 -DHAVE_MEMCHR=1 -DHAVE_STRERROR=1
	-DHAVE_WAITPID=1 =Dvfork=fork

By the way, I used GCC 2.3.1 to compile diff.

   Note - I'm compiling this with cc because gnu c reputably wont work on
   16-bit machines.

Unless you are running SCO on a 286 (wow!), gcc will work on all SCO
boxes.
