I'm using tar 1.10 to backup one of our NeXTstations. I'm doing incremental backups, and have noticed that I sometimes (not consistently) get messages like: /NextLibrary/Documentation/NextAdmin/05_SetupNet/_SettingUpACloneNetInfoA ndConfigurationServer.rtfd/: is too long: mangling to @@MaNgLeD.0 at all backup levels, even though these documentation files are never touched. Could it be that the "mangling" mechanism somehow causes the "incremental" mechanism to fail to recognize files? The files seem to be backed up alright, so the only problem is duplication. Is this possible? -- Magnus Nordborg Department of Biological Sciences Stanford University magnus@fisher.stanford.edu (NeXT mail preferred)
