Interval handling ({m[,n]}) appears to be broken in both sed-1.08 and 1.09.
This happens on a Pyramid (att, OSx145MN 5.1a-92a030 0721i MIS-4/04) and
an HP-UX box (HP-UX A.B7.00 C 9000/835). It is easily repeated as follows:
$ sed109 -ne '/^a{3}$/p' <<!
> a
> aa
> aaa
> !
aa
aaa
$
Perhaps I misunderstand sed programs, but the above expression works as I
would expect on the HP (ie, only `aaa' printed) with /bin/sed. Incidentally,
sed-1.09 runs *really* slowly on the HP:
$ time sed -ne '/regex/p' sed-1.09/regex.c
real 0m0.62s user 0m0.40s sys 0m0.22s
$ time sed109 -ne '/regex/p' sed-1.09/regex.c
^C
real 36m30.05s user 31m20.18s sys 0m33.87s
3500 times as long & I didn't wait for it to finish.
Rick.
