A new release of the GNU time program is available for anonymous ftp from prep.ai.mit.edu [18.71.0.38], in the file pub/gnu/time-1.4.tar.Z. Version 1.4 adds support for non-BSD systems (those without wait3) and clarifies the descriptions of some of the resources. `time' is a program that measures many of the CPU resources, such as time and memory, that other programs use. The GNU version can format the output in arbitrary ways by using a printf-style format string to include various resource measurements. On non-BSD systems it can provide only a little more information than Unix versions of `time'. Please send bug reports for this software to the mailing list bug-gnu-utils@prep.ai.mit.edu
