Dear Sir, A small - but ennoying problem for us - is that the B option does not seem to work as for the 'tar' where ALL output are blocked to a standard 4k size. Instead, GnuTar writes 2 or 4 k blocks, and I can't understand exactly why. A quick-and-dirt solution for us was to use -b 8 option, but ... we would prefer the standard solution. Thanking you in advance for your attention, Francois Ochsenbein Strasbourg Astronomical Data Center, France
